Welcome

The Probus Club of Farnham was formed in 1969, primarliy as a luncheon club for men who have retired from professional or business backgrounds. The Club celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special lunch on the 23 April 2019 at Farnham Castle.

The Club meets monthly at The Hogs Back Hotel, with a social drink at 1215 in the bar followed by lunch at 1300. Lunch is either preceded by a talk given by a guest speaker on a topic of general interest, or lunch is followed by a short talk by one of the members. Whilst lunches are for members only, a lunch is held every spring when members' wives and partners can join for this special and popular social event.

In addition to the regular monthly lunches, various outings and events are organised throughout the year. These include theatre visits, private tours of airports, tastings at vineyards, private tours of stately homes or museums, and canal cruises. Members' wives or partners are usually invited to these events.

From time to time a short holiday is organised for members and their wives or partners. Past holidays have been to both interesting cities in Britain, as well as to locations in mainland Europe.

Membership comes from all walks of life and include lawyers, pilots, doctors, vicars, engineers and accountants.

All have a common desire to socialise and relax in the company of like-minded individuals.
